Peachtree Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons, PA employ physician extenders as well as administrative staff to assist our physicians in your care. Our practice is dedicated to you and your family. With our extensive team, we are dedicated to your care and recovery.

Our clinical staff is licensed by the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners and must renew their licensure every two years.

Physician Assistants

Our physician assistants are licensed by the State of Georgia to assist physicians in the care of their patients. Physician assistants must graduate from an accredited PA program and be certified by the NCCPA by examination. Additionally, Physician Assistants must perform 40 hours of continuing education every two years to continue licensure and certification. Physician Assistants do not act independently, but under the supervision of our surgeons. Employing physician assistants in our practice ensures that our patients have the best medical care available.

Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses

Our Nurse Practioners and Registered Nurses are an integral part of our patient care plan. All NPs and RNs are licensed by the State of Georgia and come from years of experience in the critical care setting. Nurse Practioners have an advanced degree in nursing. We rely on them to provide patient care under the supervision and direction of our physicians. Our nurse practioners and registered nurses are all highly skilled and compassionate individuals that add an additional layer of care for you and your family.

Advanced practice registered nurses include nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, psychology/mental health, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and certified nurse midwives.Advanced nursing practice is practice by a registered professional nurse who meets the educational, practice, and national certification requirements specified by the Georgia Board of Nursing, and is authorized to practice by the Board.


Registered Nurses engage in the care of the ill, and promote and maintain health among individuals and groups. This care is delivered as a result of an assessment of the health status, establishment of a nursing diagnosis, setting nursing goals based upon the identified needs, and then implementing and evaluating the care delivered.

Administrative Staff

We understand that your care and recovery encompass more than just a hospital stay or clinical diagnosis and treatment. Our administrative staff is here to assist you in every other area during your pre and postoperative period. We have staff that will assist in coordinating a consultation appointment, insurance verification and pre-certification, scheduling a surgical date and time, assisting family members with accommodations close to the hospital for those traveling from a distance, as well as the paperwork necessary to ensure your peace of mind. Please keep in mind with the new HIPAA regulations that are mandated by the Federal Government, we must have signed authorization forms to release clinical information to anyone, including family members. If you wish to have your case discussed with members of your family, you must first complete the proper authorization forms.

Insurance Verification and Pre-certification:

Our specialists will assist you in verifying our procedures will be covered under your health insurance plan, as well as obtaining pre-certification. We do request that you also contact your insurance company and become familiar with the benefits they provide you.

Peachtree Cardiovascular accepts most major health insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. To find out if our physicians are on your plan, or for patients that do not have health insurance coverage, please contact us to learn about programs you may be eligible for or insurance plans we participate in.

Because we want you to concentrate on your recovery, Peachtree Cardiovascular will assist you with the task of disability forms, return to work authorizations, and other paperwork you may require.
